    A Man-o-war is not a jellyfish but a siponophore, an animal made up of a colony of organisms. The pretty sail that he gets his name from, is called a pneumatophore, it is gas filled and he can fill it up at will to float or sink. Also when they are dead and wash ashore, the man-o-war can still sting , he can also hurt your brain when you try to wrap your mind around the concept of what exactly is going on with this guy’s biology.
