SANDWICH, N.H. — A 13-year-old boy attending a camp for underprivileged children collapsed and died after being frightened by a bear during a hike.

In Sandwich, New Hampshire  in August 2004 a 13 year old boy named Antonio Hansell  went to a camp for inner-city kids to experience nature for the first time. He was walking the trails with his counselor, they spotted a black bear, Antonio booked it down the path so fast one of his shoes flew off. The counselor also ran and when they met up they probably had a good laugh, and decided to go back and get his shoe in a couple hours. Later when they returned the bear was still there in same place. They both ran off again. This time Antonio didn’t want to go back, didn’t want to finish the hike, he was scarred and wanted to get out of the woods, he started to breath heavily and then dropped dead.
